Culturally-rooted therapy
for individuals & couples.

Two lineages, one practice. We hold ancestral wisdom and evidence-based clinical care in the same room — so you never have to explain the parts of yourself that matter most.

Two forms, side by side.

01 — Our name, our roots

The name is the practice.

Ori

Honors one founder's Black American and Pan-African identity — the belief that each person carries an inner compass, and that healing means listening to it again alongside the wisdom of those who came before.

Aisha

Honors the other founder's Indo-Fijian ancestry — a lineage of migration, resilience, and care carried across oceans, where family, faith, and community shape what wellness is allowed to look like.

Two histories meeting is not a metaphor here — it is the clinical stance. We practice at the seam where culture, body, faith, sexuality, and family expectation all press on a person at once.

02 — Services

Care that meets the whole of you.

  • i

    Couples Counseling

For partners rebuilding trust, navigating conflict, intimacy, or intercultural and interfaith family pressure. We slow the cycle down, make each person's meaning legible to the other, and build repair you can practice at home.

  • ii

    Individual Therapy

    DBT & ACT skills-based

Practical, structured support for anxiety, depression, trauma, big emotions, and life transitions — distress tolerance and emotion regulation from DBT, plus values-led action and acceptance work from ACT.

  • iii

    Sex Therapy

Talk-based, sex-positive care for desire differences, pain or difficulty with sex, shame, mismatched expectations, pleasure, and repair after betrayal. Non-judgmental about identity, relationship structure, or practice.

  • iv

    LGBTQ+ & Gender-Affirming Care

Affirming therapy for queer, trans, and nonbinary clients — including gender transition support, exploring identity at any age, coming out with family, and navigating systems that ask you to prove yourself.

A cross-cutting commitment

Culturally-rooted care runs through every service we offer. Your culture is not context we work around — it is material we work with.

That means we ask about lineage, migration, faith, language, and what your family calls "normal." It means we name racism, colonialism, and cisheteronormativity as real sources of harm rather than personal failings. And it means we adapt the evidence base to you — not the other way around.

03 — Our approach

Rigorous, warm, and never neutral about your dignity.

  1. Evidence-based

We work primarily from DBT and ACT — skills you can use between sessions, not insight alone. Concrete tools for regulating emotion, tolerating distress, and moving toward what you value.

  2. Culturally responsive

We treat culture, faith, and family systems as central clinical information. You set the terms of what's honored and what's questioned.

  3. Anti-oppressive

Therapy that accounts for power. We look at the systems shaping your life and refuse to pathologize a reasonable response to an unreasonable environment.

  4. Sex-positive & affirming

Bodies, desire, gender, and pleasure belong in therapy. All identities, orientations, and relationship structures are welcome without qualification.
